Well, I had the last version of AntiVir a few months ago and would have rated it 10's acroos the board back then. It found viruses that Norton missed. It was a wonderfull love affair and I told all my friends... but then the site crashed and the automatic program update froze the program and I had to uninstall it. I was unable to get it ack up and running, and no re-install was possible. Upon further investigation I discovered that this happens to this program every year or so.

I loved the program, but no matter how you cut it, a system wide crash and faulty update is no fun. I have AVAST now and am loving it.

I''ve used AntiVir for a couple years. Installed it on quite a few other units as well. I''ve never run into anything like what was described. There was a short time period when their site and update forums were hard to connect to, but it didn''t cause anything like that. If I remember, a lot of other sites were hard to get to around that time too. The only problem I''ve had with AntiVir is the occasional false positive, especially with joke programs and some firewall tests.

I have been using this program for years on Win98 & NT4 and have friends using it on XP & Win Me in all that time I only encounteed one problem due to dll files being over written by an HP printerdriverlive update.
