This is a very comprehensive product that checks for trojans everywhere on your machine. It identifies vulnerabilities such as open ports and in my opinion, may be the best trojan software out there. However, spybot S&D does seem to find the same problems, and it's freeware. Some might (and probably will) argue that TrojanHunter is more comprehensive.

The major flaw for me was that my trial version did not work. It may have been due to a previous installation from a previous user, but I couldn't get it to work.

I received a response a day later regarding my email, allowing me 30 days to try it out.

$50 is a bit pricey, but it may be well worth it.

I had a trial of this a while back. It detected a BACKDOOR.NEMOG.C.
I wrote for assistance which I immediately recieved despite not having a full version. I got a comprehensive answer, explaining about false positives which I did not know about (relating to another program I had demo''d), & I was very pleased with their service.

Everyone is praising the product, but I don''t hear anyone saying it removed, found or prevented a trojan. Not to say its not a good product, but to me that would be some testimony......

I have been using the trial version for a couple of weeks and have to say that so far I am very impressed indeed and will most likely opt for the paid version when the trial expires. I did have a slight problem initially, with my AV jumping in with a warning. This was solved with a call for help to Castlecops who explained that I should shut down my AV when running TrojanHunter scans as its need to unpack archieves is mis-interepted as a problem by the AV. I would suggest that everyone give TrojanHunter''s free trial version a try out, you will not be disappointed.
This programme could add a whole new line of defence to your system. Its current one off pricing policy is appealing and it would be nice if this did not have to change, however research amd improvment costs have to be considered and there is a lot of truth in the saying you get what you pay for.

Ihave only used the trial version, and found it an excellent program.
If I understand the cost factor, they do not charge for an annual license or for updates in the following years. They do state they do not guarantee that will always be the policy.
