Being a repair technician that has used/installed many Antivirus systems over the years, I find McAfee to be one of the few (at least in this version) to beable to fix itself via the web update if something goes wrong.

One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't always catch EVERYTHING that some of the lesser known companies would (i.e. AVG), but with frequent updates it's not too much of an issue.

The one thing however I noticed that may be of concern is the first installation process. After installation, there may be some who think that they are protected and current as of that point, however, this is not the case. You have to do a manual update via the web (which may be another problem if your system is infected with a hijack / spyware program that won't allow you to get there).

But considering the setup downfalls of this product, it seems to be rock solid in operation in that nasty stuff is deleted (by default) so prevent the end user from making a choice while sufing the internet and downloading files that may be harmful.
