Well, I'm back,
I posted in the positive forum before as a complaint about live update not working(I now have figured out which forums in which to post, not live updating and the mind numbing commands one had to write in different places to recitfy the situation.
The very next day I got a generic e-mail from Norton about a fix for the problem which I promptly downloaded, it fixed the problem well and good.
I then posted a followup giving Norton the nod that maybe I had been badmouthing them for no good cause.
Well, day before yesterday Norton began detecting itself as a virus! The problem is that the screen that pops up only gives you part of the total description, but you can see that it is deletiing xvxv..NORTON....and can't see any more.
I must have clicked fifty times before I just shut Norton down, it still had two or three screens detecting itself and then went away. While I was in the middle of setting up a new printer situation, I had call to shut down the computer, Norton, of course started itself up and there were the same screens detecting itself as a virus!
I said to heck with it, uninstalled the thing and guess what, when I restarted the machine it didn't spend ten minutes churning!!
I promptly installed AVG!
And, I don't get the nag screen telling me I have to renew my subscription!
If anyone has a comment about this and want's to post it, I could still renew my subscription, but at this stage, it isn't worth the hassle.
hope you have better luck than me!
