I have tried Opera before; the free version was full of advertisements which I knew when I downloaded it. I really like the new free Opera. It is easy to use and hopefully, secure. I know it is more secure than IE but I am not sure that it is as secure or more secure than Firefox. Time will tell. It looks good! I like the magic wand to save passwords; that is one thing I really like about Firefox. I know that there are programs that you can use to save passwords such as Roboform but these programs are usually a little more difficult to use and sometimes, there are limits to the number of passwords that can be saved. I use Firefox and Opera daily and will probably have more to say on Opera after using it for a while. Thanks, Opera, for the free version since I am unable to pay for it.

Let''s not compare between Firefox and Opera shall we? IMHO both of them are about as good as each other but Firefox may be better with add ons.
I have always been using Opera all along ever since I found it. The thing I prefer Opera over Firefox is that it requires close to no customization which is good for lazy people(like me) or people with less computer knowledge. Not to say that Opera is inferior, it just have less users than Firefox. But still these 2 are the best web browsers around that have been competing with each other.

Opera is not more secure than Firefox. Right now the only browser that is less secure is IE.

Oh sure, opera fanatics will point at secunia and talk about number of exploits found and left unpatched, but anyone who knows even the least bit about security will realise that

1) The unpatched stuff is trival and the critical ones are patched QUICK in firefox, that is what matters.

2) The lack of exploits in Opera is not a good thing. There are certainly as many problems in Opera as in firefox, the reason why they are not getting aired is because no one cares about it. That is bad, because if someone seriously want to target Opera users, he will find a lot of weaknesses....

Yup, but opera is a LOT more secure than Firefox. Definately more secure than IE (almost anything is:P). But the difference between IE and Firefox is that the mozilla teams fixes the bugs sooner. Opera fixes any (rare) found bugs pretty soon... another strong point of having nice clean compact code.

Yeah Opera has been my fav browser for years and will never change it, its proven itself to me already.

But because of its logic (higher user control), the user has to do some learning to use it effectively.

If Opera was to change its stance and disallow the level of customization they have now, I''d be the first to go, but thats highly unlikely.
