Okay they have done it. This is the best NIS ever. With this version it is less resource heavy and is better with scanning. There is even a Security check feature that scans for commonly misused abused security risks. One reason why Norton uses lost of resources is because it needs them to fully protect your system. Basically I have trusted this company for over 5 years now and they are the best in my opinion. By the way this program will not let you down. Only one bad thing you have to install parental controls manually. Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs> Norton Internet Security> Change> Modify> then it will ask to install user groups and parental controls and hit yes.

Over priced, over hyped,and just plain desk top user unfriendly, Thats'' Norton security systems in a nut shell.They cater to Corporate America well
enough, however that''s becoming a questionable proposition, given the fact
that they''re losing business'' every day.
Now, for my money or may I say no money, AVG Free, Zone-a-larm, Microsoft
Antispy, Win Patrol, CWshredder etc.and one of my favorite pay fors'' Spy
Sweeper, the best just keeps git-n better.These folks are strong medicine for
the Internet flotsam that relentlessly bang at your ccomputers'' doors.

I''ve had really bad experinces with Norton Ant- on lots of computers. I generally advise against it. Hopefully they''ve done something to change things for the better.

You don''t need to use SO many resources to protect a system fully.

I hope it''s true...

I lost my shirt the first time (and last time) I advised a client to install a 2005 version of NIS + Ghost. Days of lost sleep... And by the end of Q2 Symantec (India) didn''t seem to know what to do -- you could tell that they knew there were problems but mums the word...

Recent Symantec news shows forecast downgrades and some restructuring -- and egress of some top execs (exudus?). I''m not sure what to think... Maybe the big boyz are cashing out of their CA real-estate...

In the mean time, my conversion to Zone Labs took many weeks since it exhibited similar defects as CCAPP.exe -- except, I was finally able to overcome performance and instability probs with ZLSS (it wasn''t necessarily a ZL problem -- but ZL is a hog if you have a couple years of (clean) trash on your machine)
