Once again a rather good product is being mismanaged. Although AntiVir has now apparently gone incremental, it looks like only those in Germany and perhaps Europe can with relative easy access the server(s) to obtain the VDF updates. It would look as if the rest of the world still must wait till the others have had their fill, and then get the crumbs so to speak. The company behind this product (H+BEDV), for what ever reason will not allow the VDF updates to be distributed to any other site than it's own. This offer has been extended to them by the way, and I understand on more than one occasion. Nope sorry to say, but in my humble opinion nothing on this score has changed one bit.

Thanks

Well I see that the BETA version is still not released. Now I thought this was supposed to have happened by now?

Once again H+BEDV shows that it is the company who apparently has no conception of in a timely manner. Now why is it that all other companies offering free virus protection appear to be able to resolve problems expeditiously and H+BEDV can not accomplish the same thing?

I flat state, anyone who can switch to another virus protection program should do so immediately.

Thanks

Once again I am seeing post that the server(s) are still overloaded. I said I would not lambaste H+BEDV if I thought that the incremental updating was not a ruse, well it looks like I may go back to lambasting them. For what ever reason they appear to be unable to adequately address and or fix this issue, and I am now straiting to wonder if they may be incompetent in this particular area. Oh yes remember, some say I don''t have any idea as to what I am talking about. To that I say none of the recent post about overloaded server(s) are mine!

Thanks

Like the last poster, I have no idea what your problem is wildman. I have been using this product for almost two years and I update, on average, five of seven days in a week - sometimes seven of seven. I can count on the fingers of one hand the times that the update has been unsuccessful and, on those occasions, the next attempt succeeded.

Perhaps my timing is perfect, but I DO live in the US, central time zone, and usually update in the early evening

I find AntiVir to be a useful addition to my arsenal of anti-crap programs, it is a bit slow but, I schedule it to run at night so it is not a problem.

Later,

Steve

O.k., just to be completely fair, one of the programmers for H+BEDV has started on another forum, that yes the server(s) are currently overloaded and this is a problem. He does however state that this should be much better within the next two to three weeks. Hay I give this individual, Mr. Stefan Kurtzhals a big thumbs up for having the guts to address this issue on any forum, be it Castle Cops or some other site. I know quiet a few do not believe it, but I really do wish to see AntiVir be able to take it''s place along with AVG, AVAST and the other free virus protection programs, with relatively little to no hassle.

Thanks

All one need do is look at their own forum for comments on this very subject. You will see replies to the effect of Use the server(s), when we here in Germany or Europe are not using it. Now I did not make those post up myself, so I must not know what I am talking about, right? All one need do is research the past for post about this subject to see that this has been an on going problem for years, but again I don''t know what I am talking about. Look at other forums besides Castle Cops and you will find posts on this subject, and not just mine, but again I don''t know what I am talking about. Why have they not taken Castle Cops up on their offer to use it''s server(s) for the distribution of the VDF updates?, again I don''t know what I am talking about.

Yes I have lambasted them. and I most likely will continue to do so. Why because believe it or not, I think this is a good product and it''s being mismanaged by a company that for what ever reason in my opinion can not appear to get it''s act together.

Thanks

I don''t agree. How come I can get the update with no problem nearly every time while you sounds like you always suffer? I don''t live in Europe and I totally don''t get what you say.

If you really want Antivir improve and you are not solely enjoying complaining, support my post at their official forum.
There, I suggest the use of bittorent and so far, only one person reply. Work, don''t just talk.
