I have used norton system works and security for many years in various forms and only since 2003 did it start to get buggy buy the last edition I used 2005 was the worst. the system crashed all the time and it drew greatly on system resouceses and blocking or deleting wanted files.

When I tried to un install it forget it. It dose not auto uninstall it leaves files every where that slow and interfeare with the system. No support when you need it and they seem more worried about people copying there programs than service. registration and live update suck. I used to be a fan but when a program takes over my system and I have no control its gonne. the only way to make sure its gone is to reload the system a fresh and dont install it.

Norton Internet Security

My Score:

I have the 2004 version of Norton Internet Security and I initially gave it rave reviews. Prior to installing it, I''d had MacFee''s (sp.) comparable product which was a challenge for me to manage. Regardless it completely missed the Blaster Worm, which Norton caught on its initial scan of my system.

Go team!

Unfortunately, a few months ago my &*@#$ system caught the bastard Download.Trojan which Norton could do absolutely nothing about. I don''t know if the trojan targeted it but Norton shortly thereafter could no longer download updates. Any attempts to contact Norton were for nothing as I kept getting re-sent to the same page of useless instructions. Eventually I just gave up on it and didn''t renew my rights to it when the term ended in December. What''s left of it just stopped someone from trying to access my bank information. That''s the most postive thing that software has done in months. Am now trying to finish downloading all the stuff this site recommended for eliminating the bastard Download.Trojan.
