One should not rely on reviews in computer magazines regarding products. This product received several recommendations but the customer support is sorely lacking and is only available via email. As well the same person does not always handle your case. As well do not take the scan results from this or other scanners as being gospel. They can and do make mistakes.

As well the product no longer removes spyware. In order to get any support or confirmation of false positives one has to pay for the full version.

I foolishly paid the $29 subscription fee for this program, which was supposed to be for 1 year. After 3 months or so, menu boxes started opening up stating that my subscription was expiring the next day, and requesting me to pay the fee again. I don''t think the program has done anything except bilk me out of $29, and since it''s been more than 60 days, I can''t even dispute the charge on my credit card now. Oh well, live and learn, I guess. I just hope this prevents someone else from getting ripped off.

I agree spyware doctor used to have a free version too bad they quit that. The free one was just like adaware SE, for example u could scan and remove however to use the on-demand scanner you had to pay up. It used to be my number one favorite spyware remover as It detected more than adaware SE, however now they want money as like one poster put it you can scan but you have to pay up.. However I do think there is some sites still having the old version you can use but if you update then an update stops it and asks you to pay up...

I''m highly suspicous of this product.
My experience is that one of my clients installed a malware virus scanner known as spyhawk. This product takes the form of a scanner that alerts you to viruses on your PC and then asks you to register for 30$ to remove the problems. It looks like s fully featured scanner but until you pay up it blocks you from doing anything on your PC using the excuse that you are being affected by a virus whereas ALL the problems are actually caused by the software. In an attempt to rectify this i downloaded the free trial for spyware doctor and what do you know it tells me a i have viruses on my PC and that i need to pay $30 to remove it, coincidence? I think not especially given that the malware and the supposed cure look extremely similar. Make up your own minds but i wouldn''t pay this company a dime and just in case i''ve also noticed that spyware sweeper downloads and then tells you that you have viruses and need to pay 30$ to remove them and looks also very similar to spyhawk and spyware doctor.......
