I found exactly the same thing as jabbs on a few friends pc's wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!

spyware doctor did the job, but took up too much memory and slowed my mother''s computer down to a crawl.... even after we installed more ram...

needless to say it was removed... but a great product on cleaning up the computer

I recently tryied Spyware Doctor and had to remove it because it slowed my computer down to a crawl. At start up it took forever for it to load up and not to mention all the other conflicks it created with my other programs. I''ll stick with NoAware,SUPERantispyware and AVG Anti-Spyware.!!

I have used SD for over a year and it works very well. I do daily update, scans etc and my machine is clear. The proof of any product like this is when it actually finds spyware and show you it has done so and fixed teh associated problems. This has happened several times. I have used various other products and none have had teh scope of SD. I also use Regisyer Mechanic which I would advise everyone to use. You would be surprised just how many things this finds and fixes. (and not just cookie stuff) SD and RM get top marks from me.

I''ve been running Spyware Doctor for over a year and would not be without it. Adaware SE could not find and remove a tool bar add on that installed itself and caused all kinds of problems. Spyware Doctor found and removed it with ease and has been keeping my system clean ever since.

Spyware Doctor is THE premium option for remaining free of scumware. I have used this app for 2 yrs and have been VERY impressed by the way it integrates into my system; in contrast to Webroot''s Spy Sweeper, which cost me 2 weeks of MY VALUABLE FREE TIME in order to track down the cause of my frequent BSODs. Shockingly poor, Webroot. Only v4.5 is any good. After this versh, yr PC will crash pronto monto!!!
PCTools is a QUALITY software house.

It''s best AntiSpyware product I ever used, you get fequent updates (product + definition) almost daily base. Get free upgrades everytime PC Tools launch new version.

I used Spyware Doctor and had to get rid of it.I had trouble with it from the start.It had conflicks with almost every program on my computer.I use Spy Sweeper instead.Now Webroot''s Spy Sweeper really does the job! Steven Hogden

After having PC Tools Spyware Doctor 6 months, I gladly uninstalled it. Lavasoft''s Ad Aware SE free version was finding all the malware/spyware and the only items SD would report were tracking cookies. (Low level threat ones). It missed Sasser, Win32 Agent.arv and others. I had all the shields it comes withactivated and the bad guys still made it onto my PC. I kept all the definitions up to date, and checked that they were not tampered with. I was really disappointed. It was installed on a fresh XP SP2 installation with completed list of updates already installed. Since I had already purchased Registry Mechanic, (one of PC Tools other products) I added Spyware Doctor. I wish SD followed in the footsteps of Registry Mechanic, RM has proved itself to be a useful, quality product for my office PC, and the Spyware Doctor CD has become a coffee cup coaster.

Prior to my purchasing Spyware Doctor, my computer was bogged down with spyware and trojan horses. Since installing SD 9 months ago, I''ve been spyware free. As long as you download updates, scan and immunize regularly (I do so once a week), you shouldn''t have any spyware issues.

Spyware Doctor gets a big thumbs-up from me.
