Compare Product Reviews in this ClassCCops lists this review option as Ver: 8.59 which is out of date - I am only reviewing the current version 9+.
I like to keep things brief. If security is your primary concern with a major browser, this one is best-in-class hand's down. Allow me to clarify my use of the word security in the context of the three major browsers - Firefox is excellent and IE7+ is better than most think as long as you know how to configure it which takes some doing if you don't speak Microsoft-speak (they don't want you to) and if you are not a serious tech expert. FWIW, IE6+ series IMHO was a stinker of the first order. I've got all three browsers loaded on real-use and test machines. In terms of security re Opera specifically, it is frighteningly brilliant re best internal encryption support.
That spoken, Opera 9+ - as my kids would put it - rocks re security. Nothing, however, comes without a price - the price for Opera 9+ is that one must be seriously tech-inclined to understand its extreme security benefits in the form of proper configuration.
Otherwise, stick with the excellent Firefox but please please do yourself a favor and be very very careful about what add-on's and extensions you might choose. The most popular and best rated might well crash the browser if you don't understand that all such such added stuff is BETA in extreme - the code was all written by people with wildly differing degrees of programming expertise.
P.S. No, I don't work for Opera! :p
