I installed the program and after coustomizing it a bit, I was able to compromise and use Norton with another firewall and be able to start up somewhat fast. While I am not fully secure, I still have e-mail scanning and live protect when I want it so as not to compromise my computer's speed. I have noticed that Norton is much better than Mcaffe in just about all respects. In fact, Norton Antivirus Removal picked up more spyware and adware than Mcaffe's specialized spyware removal program. So while Norton may not be coded well, it picks up plenty of viruses and spyware to be worth what it costs. I have not had any trouble uninstalling it when I want, but It does leave some files over, mainly the information on your current subscription, but Mcaffe leaves much more. Anyway, it may not be as good as other soulutions, but it works somewhat decently.

To which I say: It is so refreshing for people to realize, in an objective unbiased way, that NAV has excellent detection. The later versions of NAV, like the later versions of ZoneAlarm, are better at cleaning up after an uninstall. You made a good choice.
