I had NIS on my family computer until recently when the computer crashed under the weight of 42 viruses, adware, and spyware that waltzed right through the NIS full protection. Norton found some of them but could not remove most anyway. This was very disappointing and inconvenient. I did not have such problems on my personal PC with NIS probably because I go to less risky sites than my teenager does who downloads a lot of games and such. I since removed NIS and installed Panda Software which I heard was much better. One problem with NIS was it self-updates every week but a new trojan only a few days old got into the computer between updates and let in the rest. Panda is supposed to update real-time if I understand their claims correctly.
