Probably an easy question.
Now and then (twice a day), while torrenting, I get an application msg from Kerio saying that kvpn (kerio vitrual private network) is attempting to make an outside connection to the internet.
I've given up and denied it, then went and sorted the application rules to auto deny it for both in and out Internet connections in future. Doesn't seem to have affected anything.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has this show up and/or know why it shows up.
I've only had it appear since I started using torrents for downloads. Good ole emule never brought it up.
Ver 4.2.3 if that helps.

For me the same, I am using uTorrent. It seems to be a Service or something Internal of the Kerio Firewall, because Kerio itself can not display the full Pathname. It just displays KVPN while activating that display Option.
I don't know what it is and I am searching for more Information about KVPN or "Sunbelt Kerio Virtual Private Network" (Self-Description).
My Kerio Version is 4.3.2680 (Service and Interface).
Anyway I noticed that Kerio performs very Bad while I have Traffic on my System. I guess this is because of the amount of Traffic.

I believe Kerio added this as an internal rule for their own Kerio VPN. I'm not sure which port Kerio VPN uses but if any application uses this port, then SKPF4 shows the application belonging to Kerio VPN.
Regarding system performance, have you unchecked "resolve address" within the overview, connections window?

You're right, Kerio had a hidden rule for port 4090 that was associated with KVPN. I don't know that it is still there (the hidden rule).
For some discussion on the old kerio forums about this, see:

* - it's a PDF file

Had a look at a saved config and it's still there.
