|
|
Hi,
I've installed ZoneAlarm recently and since that I have a big problem when I try to catch my mail with Eudora 6 : every time I try to do that I get immediately this error message "Logging into POP server : Error reading from network - Connection closed by foreign host"
Eudora is allowed to go through ZA without restriction.
I'm using Eudora for 7 years but with other firewalls, and I didn't have any problem.
I have the problem when ZA is either in high, med or low.
Have you got an idea for the problem ? And, better, do you have any solution ?
Thank you.

a few ideas:
1. have you checked the ports in ZA.
outgoing = 25
incoming =110
ZA could be allowing outgoing but not allowing incoming.
2. is ZA blocking passwords from being sent? the POP server needs users name and password before it gives you your mail.
3. if you shutdown ZA does things work again?
let me know. _________________ Let me know,

Mea maxima culpa !
I was blinded by wy excessive paranoia !
I've blocked by mistake the service "Symantec Common Client User Session"... forgetting that it is required for testing the incoming and outgoing mails (it's a part of the Norton Antivirus).
I started back with a backup of my PC and it worked fine.
Step by step I finally understood my mistake.
Thank you anyway for your help !
