|
|
Hi,
I've installed ZoneAlarm recently and since that I have a big problem when I try to catch my mail with Eudora 6 : every time I try to do that I get immediately this error message "Logging into POP server : Error reading from network - Connection closed by foreign host"
Eudora is allowed to go through ZA without restriction.
I'm using Eudora for 7 years but with other firewalls, and I didn't have any problem.
I have the problem when ZA is either in high, med or low.
If I close ZA, Eudora works perfectly.
Have you got an idea for the problem ? And, better, do you have any solution ?
Thank you.

Hello Erwan18,
If your version of ZoneAlarm has privacy settings, try changing those settings.

What version of Zone Alarm are you using? Have you granted it 'access' in your Programs List? Turn on all your alert in ZA so you will know what is being blocked. You will fid program allerts in the 'advanced' tab.

Mea maxima culpa !
I was blinded by wy excessive paranoia !
I've blocked by mistake the service "Symantec Common Client User Session"... forgetting that it is required for testing the incoming and outgoing mails (it's a part of the Norton Antivirus).
I started back with a backup of my PC and it worked fine.
Step by step I finally understood my mistake.
Anyway thank you all for your help !
