I recently set up my WRT54G again with my new desktop because I also have a laptop now. When I plugged it in I was pleasantly surprised that it worked fine. My old settings worked even though on the new machine I'm also using the nVidia firewall. Setting up the wireless stuff was easy and that works fine too.
However, a short time later (after a reboot? I don't remember) the nVidia popped up a message about something having changed but that it had fixed it. Well actually, it broke something. The nVidia firewall started blocking my outgoing connection. When I turned off the nVidia firewall, my connection started working again.
Examining the nVidia log I see entries like this:
"Blocked Spoofed IP Packet, Fake Source ID: 192.168.1.103, Destination IP: 192.168.1.255."
My starting IP address is the default 192.168.1.1.
Now obviously there's something about the WRT54g that the nVidia firewall doesn't like or understand. I'm guessing there's some simple setting I could change somewhere that would make things right but so far I haven't been able to figure it out. I'd like to continue using the nVidia firewall but until I find the answer I'm using Norton.
Does anyone know what I should change?
Thanks,
WindowPain
