Hi Paranoid2K,
Thanks for the heads up. I read today somewhere that RC4 of version 4 of Outpost 4 has been released. I'm curious if anyone has tried this version of Outpost (4), and this RC # (4) yet....and if so, what they think of it in general, as well as compared to previous versions of Outpost....
P.S. - I still wish that Agnitum would offer a "lifetime license", to combat the growing popularity of FREE products like Comodo...even if it was an offer simply for a limited time period.....

As for RC4, it does contain some fixes over RC3 but some problems are being reported in the Release Candidate Forum. I'm pushing Outpost quite hard on my system and have encountered some problems as a result.

I hear you, Paranoid.....I guess I'd just like to see a limited time offer for a "lifetime license" for users that want future version upgrades for the firewall ONLY....without the spyware definition coverage, etc. After all, with Comodo attracting such a huge following because it is FREE, a limited time "lifetime license" would likely draw many folks to Outpost that are leaning towards or are currently using Comodo. Not to mention, I'm sure that new versions of Outpost will address and correct new concerns that arise, and users with an "outdated" firewall will be susceptible to future vulnerabilities that are exposed.

Thanks for that info and heads up as well. It seems like RC4 is pretty close to the "Gold" version that Agnitum will likely release, according to things I have read, heard and seen. I guess that whatever "problems" you're encountering will likely be addressed and corrected in a future "update" to version 4...and that's what I'm referring to about future version upgrades, etc.
