Newbie to Mailwasher. Downloaded and installed in WinXP/OE6.

When I tell Mailwasher to check mail, it hangs approx halfway through to download of email. Then, after maybe 30 seconds or so, I get a popup message wanting my email password. When I put the password combo in, then it waits another minute or so, and repeats this cycle. Each time it does this, the download window advances half the remaining distance.

What's the deal here and how do I fix it?

Sounds like an interesting problem!

Go to Help then about and click the link there, then tick the logging box and close help.

Exit and restart MW (leave the explorer window open) and do a mail check. Keep at it until you get to the end of your messages. Exit Mw and look in the explorer window for a file called something like debug.txt, send that to support at firetrust.com along with your explanation of what is going wrong.

Go back to help-about and untick the logging box.

Firetrust is in new Zealand so you may not get a response until monday morning there.

Huh!

I went to Help, then About. I got a panel with a link to my blacklist and spamlog files. Nothing anywhere about logging to check.

I don't have the windows version running mow but I sure thought there was a single small box in the bottom left corner of the about that you could put a tick in to get MW to generate logs.

The current version is 5.3 - and has been for over a year. I don't think anybody would be able to help with 1.0

Just uninstalled my MW1 and downloaded/installed MW5.3. I can already tell it's working fine.

Thanks for that info.
