i tryed to copy and paste norton utilities 2002 from my old computer to the new one. it keeps saying it may be bad and reinstall. it works fine on old computer. hope someone can help. i have xp pro. thanks,mackd

When you install a program, most of the program files are typically located in a folder in C:\Program Files. Other files may be installed in the Windows directory. Most program installations include registry entries. Simply copying the program directory files won't move any Windows files nor the registry entries. You must install the program on the new computer.
First check the system requirements for the software to determine whether it will work on the new computer. Then check your software license to see if there are any restrictions on how many computers you can install the software on.

a dialog box comes up saying dil is missing. how do i get the missing dil?

It is missing a dll (dynamic link library). There is no way to know which one as there are many installed with any programs and many programs share them.

With norton utilities 2002 you have folders and files installed in more then the C:\Program Files folder and then I bet lots added to the registry also.
No way can you just copy and paste it to the other drive.
Your have to install it to the other computer and even then it being 5 years old I don't know if you can still update all of it. You may be able too but I bet they see that your year is up and want you to pay again but even it may want you to get another version that is newer.
