Please someone tell me where I can get it online. I tried store but they sold me the wrong one.
Thanks in advance Wink

Are you looking for a sound card or the driver for the sound card? If you just need the driver tell me the brand of sound card you have and I will find them for you. If you are looking for a sound card any modern PCI sound card should work with WinXP.

Again, I am not really sure what you are looking for. Please try to clarify.

OK, you have onboard sound. The drivers for your onboard sound should be on the Instillation CD that came with your motherboard. Or, if this is a store bought computer like a Dell, HP, etc. you should have a instillation CD that came with the computer with all necessary drivers on it. Got anything like that?

Parputt, thanks for your help. I do not have any of those CD's. The vendor did not include them when I was purchasing my PC. All hardwares including soundcard were installed already when I first bought my computer. But couple of days ago my system was attacked by viruses and I had to make a fresh installation of Win XP myself. The problems is now that my sound needs a device. Are there any other ways, like can I find it online somewhere?

Yes you can find what you're looking for, but you will need to know the exact make/model/version of your mother board.

What you need is your mother board chipset drivers. The chipset drivers are a pack of driver for all the devices on the mother board. If you can find the above listed mother board information I can help you find the correct chipset drivers.

Or you could just contact the vendor that sold you the computer and ask them to send you a CD with the chipset drivers.

However, it is the weekend, and I imagine you would like to get this sorted now. If you have any written documentation for the computer check and see if you can find the mother board information. If not you will have to open the computer case and look at the mother board to get the information. Be sure to turn the power off and unplug the computer before opening the case. Also do not touch any of the metal parts inside the computer while looking around in there.

Let me know what you find and I will do my best to help you find the correct chipset drivers.

Hi proxyblue,
The driver for you Intel sound device is available on www.intel.com.
But first you have to make sure what your motherboard or chipset type/model is.
Then go to intel.com, find downloads link, choose your motherboard/chipset model and choose your OS, then you'll find all drivers for your motherboard.

Seems to be everything you need for your mother board. Bios, Chipset, Onboard sound. Find your particular sound/operating system combo and get the drivers.
