My experience after over a year and LOT'S of reporting is this doesn't work.
I watch the spam and the ones I report most are still with me and the ones that drop off I can't honestly attribute to Knujon. I think the Emperor has no clothes and I have wanted it to be different but a spade is a spade.
Someone turn the light out on the way out the door. Good luck charging for what doesn't work. Makes for a stronger placebo effect!!!

I've had mixed results. Sure, I still see the same rx spams coming in, sites being suspended, but it's gonna take a lot more than just us to stop this. It's a community effort. These guys (spammers/phishers/evil!) are sooo ontop of things...like today, I decided to surf to one of those geocities spam links (and then it re-directs me to a different site..) I have a feeling they are just playing the system. Knujon and other spam filters sees "geocities" and let it slide, but they may not actually be following the site, to find out where it ends.
Maybe knujon DOES follow these links, I don't know, but I know Spamcop does not...I send out tons of geocities abuse reports through spamcop, but they should be attacking the host at the final destination too, not just geocities, cause it doesn't take much to create another free geocities pages and point it at their main site.
Don't give up the fight, instead tell your friends, spread the word of KnujOn, SpamCop, et. all. The more the merrier.
I also have been forwarding all spam to spam@uce.gov - sure maybe it's going to deaf ears, but at least they aren't bouncing yet.
Every so often when I load up my iGoogle homepage and see another article in the news about "another spammer jailed", I like to think that my reporting spam has ended that guy's profession...maybe it diid, maybe it didn't, but it makes me feel good anyways
Loyal to the end,
Adam

Are you a registered member? If not what address have you been reporting to?

I'm a registered member, I have submitted reports to the proper address assigned me, as well as the stockjunk address. I get reports that are near useless and validate my experience. The reports show the worst offenders never get shut down and the smaller, less bothersome sites fall off occasionally. It's really sad and I refuse to convince myself that it's working when my mailbox tells me otherwise. Like I said...The Knujon emperor has no clothes. I wish it were otherwise. Like Okipippi, the last one hear be sure to turn out the light!

Let's get a few things straight.
1. We have some people who see a big benefit, many people who see a moderate benefit and some people who do not see a benefit. Finding out why it does not work for some people and fixing it will make it work for everyone. Just saying "Knujon does not work" and walking away doesn't help anyone. This is supposed to be an evolutionary, constructive process. Data and feedback build it and improve it. Unstructured negative comments don't change the process.
2. You didn't post this in the registered forum and you did not email us directly about your experience. So until we see otherwise your criticism cant be taken seriously, especially when you use comments like "The Knujon emperor has no clothes"

I am posting this here because it's the "General Discussion Board." Seems appropriate to me! Yes, I know with any venture, like medical treatments, results will vary. After more than a year I am waiting to hear anyone mention their big spammers have vanished. I see reports of spam going up and down but nothing more. The burden isn't on me to prove my spam hasn't been effective. I am not the one with the website touting thousands of spam site closures, I am waiting for some evidence of it in my mailbox to correlate with your claims. NAD, ZILCH,NOTHING. It takes effort to forward all the messages everyday and for the work involved I have seen zero results. Can I make it more clear for you? Yes, you can shoot the messenger, and the next one, and so forth, but your response has told me all I need to know. I am not claiming my comments here will do anything. That's the difference between us. You have to backup your claims since you make them. I just think the people dutifully reporting to you would benefit from my experience. And also what they are in for should they choose to comment like I have. Nuff said!!!

And you wont tell us who you are so we can examine your account and submissions. That tells everything we need to know.

My friend, we don't have any contact from you in our emails and you joined this forum Saturday. Why did you wait so long to say you were having a problem?

I am not big on verbiage. I was giving Knujon the benefit of the doubt on results and was making sure I gave it enough of a chance. If I had complained earlier you would have said I was too quick to complain!!! So is it a crime to lurk, watch, and wait? I noticed you didn't mention when I joined knujon. What was the date? How many submittals have I made? Who are my large quantity spammers and what are the results on them? I think we are getting somewhere now. Or do you plan to just continue bashing the messenger? I am sure their must be other areas I can be criticized for? Do you realize how this is making you look?

Never, I think that is an unfair assumption. We might have said it takes time to work, but we would have looked into your specific results. We have found plenty of cases where someone's email content was ripped by anti-virus software or other reasons why submissions did not register. We always request feedback, always.

No, but it doesn't get your issues addressed.
| f1jim wrote: | | I noticed you didn't mention when I joined knujon. |
Nope. My question was exactly: "Why did you wait so long to say you were having a problem?" I can see you are long-time member which is why I'm puzzled.

Not bashing, just trying to get to the root of the issue. Before we could get anywhere I needed to establish you were a real client. Second we needed to clarify what the issue was.

I'm seriously sorry for the bout on CastleCops. The last thing we want to do is argue with our own members. Please understand that we are defending ourselves from an endless barrage of disinformation from spammers and uniformed critics. We have lots of folks on the forums who are known to us who complain about the specifics of Knujon and members who are long-standing but have problems with the process and we do our best to work it out with them. The harshest critics are the most important to us because there in lies the keys to a better solution.
To this end I think we need to layout some rules on how these things are handled. Please come directly to us first with issues you are having with your accounts. If you ask us first and don't like the answer or solution, fire away on the forum.
Case and point, in the other thread posted today: "knujon playing dirty", we have client with some very real concerns that we are trying to address. Are we really playing dirty with this client? I think not. There were three main issues:
1. Wasn't a member of the closed forum - we fixed that
2. Not getting report emails - we're looking into the cause
3. Getting virus reports from the ISP - not coming from us, but we're going to work this out
These are all fairly common issues we deal with on a regular basis, but in the context of the original thread it sounds like something completely different.

I realise I'm adding this comment quite late in the discussion but I'll openly admit to being a little sceptical about participating in this project. I'm not quite ready to jump up and down shouting "It works!" but I have seen a significant reduction in the amount of spam received. Some of my e-mail addresses now receive no spam at all. I think KnujOn has, for me, achieved far more than SpamCop or Blue Security ever did and at this point in time I'm more likely to pay KnujOn some money than renew my mail account with SpamCop.
I'm sorry if you feel that reporting to KnujOn hasn't worked for you, I felt exactly the same way after all the hours I put into reporting to Blue Security.
