|
|
Dear reader,
I've used mailwasher on my pc and it works well.
I wanted to give it a go for the mac, but seeing as it's a lost case (is it?),
I wanted to remove the shareware version totally from my MacBook.
But removing it with all sorts of programs didn't quite work.
I mean it does remove most parts.
But when I reinstall, the settings are already set. Or rather kept from a previous installation. And the same goes for the shareware counter.
The counter counts from the first time I installed it.
Which means something was left on my MacBook.
And I don't like it. When I remove something, I want it to be totally gone.
Cleaned.
How can I accomplish this? I thought Macs didn't get cluttered, but if this happens every time a try a program, I am going to have a messy Mac.
Thank in advance for answering.

I have no clue what just happened... I am sure my message was attached to the last reply... ???
Here I go again...
Use AppZapper and when you want to remove some application, just drag over its icon to AppZapper's container and "Zaaap!!" your application along with all dependents will be - again - zapped! Wiped out... no traces left. Best of all, AppZapper will offer you so you can choose what to erase and what not.
Hope this helps, I know I found this little utility a wonderful helper when it comes to uninstalling applications on my new aluminum iMac. Yes, I am convert from Windows too... and I have to say I love it, I will never ever go back to Windows again.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already tried that. And for some reason it didn't work. I mean most files are gone, but there is something that is left behind that keeps my settings (email accounts) and the counter for the shareware version.
Any other suggestions are always welcome.
Thanks.
