While I have taken to task some for misrepresenting text in terms others may find boarder a trifle on the harsh side of "strict," one should take solace in that there are far, far, far more bizarre ways of misreading the texts. I do not mean "DaVinci Codes" or "Bible Codes" and the like. Heck, I once stumbled over an Atheist/Wiccan guide--yes! Wrap your mind around that--that claimed "666" was "Big Daddy Himself!"
Yes. The entire NT is devoted to denouncing religion.
Yet, I was informed of a guy who surpasses those. I was asked a month or so ago about the "UFO passage" in Genesis. Briefly, this is the introduction to the Flood Myths where the bene elohim--"sons of the gods"--come down and mate with "da wimmenfolk" and found a race of heroes . . . which some mistranslations into Greek later gives us "giants."
This passage has inspired/justified all sorts of "fallen angel" myths to quite a few UFO cults.
Apparently this guy took this idea just a bit far:
| Quote: | In 1985 George R. Simpson, a notable engineer and inventor, was "visited" by extraterrestrial contact. He was told that there was a hidden language imbedded in the English language and that it was his job to determine the decoding rules for revealing the hidden meanings and teach the world about the hidden messages. Simpson has worked twenty-two years on this important project, first to uncover the code, then to document the decoding structure and translated messages.
Simpson found that, indeed, the hidden language has been encrypted in English words by "God". This is an unprecedented appearance of "God" - to teach mankind. The decoded words/messages are often corny, silly, fun, and something very boring; they are always brutally true criticisms of our present world. The Holy Bible has been coded by "God" to contain thousands, if not millions, of hidden meanings. The extent of the hidden meanings is indeed Overwhelming.

Now, you might think that someone spending "twenty years" on this would take just a bit of time studying Biblical Hebrew and koine Greek . . . maybe even a bit on textual criticism to know whether or not the text one has represents the best reconstruction . . . maybe some astronomy and physics--but NO! You see? It was the plan all along for the English translations to contain "t3h S3kr1t Knowledge."
What is the point about this other than "point and laugh" [And he is a pompous prat.--Ed.]?
Without following the rules, by appealing to "what my heart says," and all of that, what makes THIS sort of analysis invalid?

P.S. And he is trying to sue an internet board because they were "mean" to him.

Hehe! One only needs to read "Chariots of the Gods" by Erich von Däniken to smell "FISHY!".
Graham Hancock also swallows von Däniken's nonsense.
At least They are shown to be way off track by Ian Lawton and Chris Ogilvie-Herald's great book, Giza: The Truth : The People, Politics, and History Behind the World's Most Famous Archaeological Site.
For the average person to figure out whether the the person you mention is correct, it neccesary to do just one thing. Think.
A couple of thousand years ago, the person that claimed to have seen and spoken to a "God" or "Angel" directly, would have been given some credit perhaps.
These days such people sometimes substitute "Gods" and "Angels" with alien encounters, and are correctly given lots of pretty little tablets to take.
It's when they stop taking the tablets and "put pen to paper" that many common sense folk, sometimes get suckered with pretty "CON"vincing selective extraction from ancient texts or the "Bible". _________________ "The greatest thing you could ever learn, is just to love...and be loved in return."

Heck, in order for one of Graham "Bloody Wogs Could Not Build Anything!" Hancock friends theories to work--"OMFG!! ORIONS BELT!"--you have to not know the difference between "North" and "South."
Seriously.
I know of a crank who blathers about that. Much of it is, frankly, a racism or at least an elitism that, "I cannot figure out how it was done! How could those darkies do it?! I'm a genius!! Must have been Aryans/Atlanteans/Aliens who taught them!"

Hilarious true thing is before Wally Striber--however you spell the idiot's name--popularized the "Grey" alien, alien abduction reports varied wildly. Someone traced who reports began to come together as his books became popular.

Another funny thing about the UFO stuff is how politicians "promise to open the files" on them, If elected...
Makes you think they've done a survey, to see just how many people believe in this stuff, then came up with that statement, thinking they will get the majority of votes...Scary...
Reagan even "pushed" the issue, thinking it would help bring "World Peace", if people on Earth thought that they should stand together against an enemy that's not from Earth. That's possibly why the government almost embraces the concept.
After all, it also diverts the attention of "nosey Parkers" from the stealth technology employed at bases like Area 51.
The old policy of "Treat them like mushrooms. Keep them in the dark, and feed them sh*t..." _________________ "The greatest thing you could ever learn, is just to love...and be loved in return."

I believe a military wonk admitted they could not have devised a better misinformation campaign if they tried.
Clinton also promised to "get to the bottom" of UFO questions. I believe his was the Administration where, during the Pentagon report on UFOs, a guy dressed up like an alien came out to the podium.
Anyways, the "alien abduction" is primarily a form of sleep paralysis--for good reason your voluntary muscles are shut down at certain stages of sleep. Want to be running or whatever foul and deprave thing it is you do when you dream whilst in bed?
Well, should you wake up in this state, you are not fully "with it," and you cannot move. You cannot scream. You cannot breath voluntarily. This is the origin of the "night-hag" story--I get it myself about once or twice a year. Your brain tries to figure things out.
The alien abductions follow this pattern. Now, as in Wiley's various "abductions," victims of this all do the same thing--as I do after I can throw the old hag or--last time . . . sexy succubus!--off my chest:
They go back to sleep!
Right. Aliens enter your room. They paralyze you! They [CENSORED--Ed.] you with an instrument that resembles a cross between a turkey baster and router.
And . . . you go to sleep afterwards?
Thing is, the brain is designed to find patterns. Cognitively, we like patterns. We can create meaning where none is there. This is what this guy is doing.

Remember how many were willing to sell out their fellow humans to the lizards in V.
