I am responsible for multiple laptops at my job. I have to make sure they stay on. Seems like an easy task right? I change the power options to always on. I set the laptop lid settings to do nothing. I disable hibernation. I noticed that some of them go into standby. I started logging in with the local machine profile and changing the settings. Then I log into the machine with network admin profile and the settings are slightly different, the laptop lid settings are to go to standby. Even after changing both, they still tend to revert at times. Is there some sort of registry entry that I can change so that no matter what profile I use, or what the network settings, the laptops will be forced to stay on?

Have you looked at the bios power settings? They usually need to be modified to keep laptops running full time. _________________ Don't read? Can't learn!

I took a look. The only pertinant setting seemed to be the wake on LAN setting. I turned it on. We'll see what happens. Thanks.
