Boy - seeing all the threads here on Norton reminds me why I chose alternatives. But that said, one of those alternatives left me major time burned when it came to a hard disk crash.
A colleague suggests the new Norton Save and Restore might be a good solution. What do others suggest here. Would I be better off with that, with Ghost, or with Acronis?
Is there something else out there for disaster recovery that I should consider?
Thanks!

Conjurer, I run Norton Save and Restore and it seems a great program. It does not hog like some of the earlier Symantec software.
For me it came in very handy when my main PC crashed with a power supply problem on 23 Dec. I was able to swing over to a laptop and recover the files I required from my desktop. I had done a full backup only the night before. I must add that both desktop and laptop have a removable external hard drive attached.
I was able to recover files and place them to my selected folders. _________________ regards, Peter.

Peter,
Please see my note on Norton Save and Restore. I'm trying it out and have major problems understanding and working with it. My previous note explains in more details. If you can advise, I would appreciate it, before I give up on it.
