I have a desktop and a laptop connected via a home network. I've brought Ad-Aware and installed it on my desktop with no problem. Can I also install it on my laptop? I tried it and it installed in "Free" mode. When I try to Register it, it tells me the Serial Number is invalid (I copied the serial number from the email sent to me by Lavasoft and it works fine on the desktop, but not the laptop - I copied it to eliminate possible typing errors)

I've sent messages to Lavasoft support, but no reply yet.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Read your EULA (End User License Agreement) that came with the software. Usually, unless you bought licenses for multiple computers, you can only use it on one system.

Agreed, mrsugg. Unless the policy has changed, this is what we used to advise customers:

Quote:
Plus and Professional versions are a single owner\machine license and are not transferable.

The license belongs to the original purchaser. They can move the program from one machine to another, but it must be uninstalled from the original machine first.

The original owner cannot "give" the license away with a machine when they sell or give that machine away.
