-- I ran across a reference to a "DARKSUSB.exe Trojan" posted 2008.02.13 on Portable Apps (P-Apps -- home URL: http://portableapps.com ) forum at URL: http://portableapps.com/node/11390 where the poster indicated that "... so far the only scanner that will remove it is ClamWin ...." The P-Apps forum item referenced a MS forum page at URL: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421004&SiteID=17 (subj: "DarksUSB.exe virus...Anyone speak Spanish??" thread from item originally posted 2007.11.16.)

-- Quick search on Castle Cops turned up nothing, re "darksusb" yet. I'm concerned in that this malware affects USB devices, apparently vectoring via MS autorun feature. This would obviously be a real threat for those depending on USB memory devices for mobility. P-Apps users, among others, depend heavily on USB device functionality.

-- This message more a tipper than anything else. I'm coming to trust Castle Cops as a good place for collaboration in fighting malicous activities on the web.
