|
|
For the latest official release of Complainterator, please visit http://www.complainterator.com. It is now at Version 21.x
Complainterator Version 20.5 works with the new format of DNSStuff, is less likely to time out awaiting a window, has additional support for China, and introduces an option to just create message files if your email is not currently available ("Suppress email")
Below is Version 20.7 which has
- latest contacts file
- support for a signature file
- protection from Gandi shutting themselves down !
- more retries on traversal to avoid timeouts
Since Complainterator will generate requests for registrars to shut down their own servers, the responsibility is on the user to not send such messages.
Registrar Gandi received two such requests, but wisely decided not to shut down their business. To avoid such mistakes occurring in the future, newer versions will try to avoid even generating such messages, starting in this release with Gandi.
If you see doubtful name server requests, that look like the registrar's own servers, feel free to append them in this forum so they can be built in to the program.

Still not as good as v20.1
Warning: Your IP address has triggered our DNSstuff rate limiting system and your access has been restricted. The IP we have identified is 999.999.999.999 (edited)
If you have a valid DNSstuff license, this may be due to another user on your network submitting too many queries, abusing us in a malicious manner, or using an automated program to query our site.
Here's how we can help:
1. If you work for a company with multiple users, please consider corporate membership. Each user requires a valid license/login for unlimited access to our tools. Please click here a faxable order form or contact sales@dnsstuff.com.
2. If you are the only DNSstuff user at your location, and you continue to receive this rate limiting warning message, please email support@dnsstuff.com. so we can resolve this situation with you immediately.
3. If you are interested in writing a script for automated access to our tools - please contact sales@dnsstuff.com and give us the details (how many queries per month, what tools you will access, etc). We have a new automated usage program that may be a perfect fit.
Please go here for more details.
Thanks for using DNSstuff.com. We appreciate your support.

My account is up for renewal so I am not sure if I am running under free or paid subscription.

I'm using a free account, and didn't run into any problems (atleast not with DNSstuff).
Have you tried clearing out all the dnsstuff related cookies?
And then re-login with remember password set.
There's been reports of it working fine with no login reported above by user, efa.

I deleted the 2 cookies and signed on and got same results this morning. I checked my account and I have a paid subscription until June. I do not see "remember password" on log-in page now.

this may be more complicated than what you are looking for, but there is an addon for firefox that allows you to "lock" cookies so they can't change or be deleted.

I got email back from DnsStuff saying I should be all set. It is looking good so far. I will see later if my use will be limited.

I have replaced the 20.2 with a modified one. It detects a new annoying pop-up when going to do the DNS Stuff traversal step, and automatically replies to it.
This was causing some runs to abort with a time-out.
I have also reset the program icon back to a frog. Let us never forget the Blue Security affront.
[I get knocked down, but I get up again]

Version 20.5 contains several incremental improvements.
If DNSStuff pops up an initial prompt, it is now detected and replied to.
Timeouts and lost screens were starting to occur, so there are more waits built in to overcome that issue.
Links in the messages to spamtrackers.eu do not work from the People's Republic of China, so additional links have been added for spamtrackers.hk to accommodate them.
Back-up message files in \Archive folder were stored in standard text format, despite sometimes having names in Chinese text that did not make it. The files are now stored in UTC format to retain the Chinese character set.
In response to a user suggestion, there is a new option to suppress email creation in the mailer. If you can not have your mailer running, you can set on the "Suppress email" option, and just create the backup messages in the \Archive folder.
Documentation, Readme, and the Online help file are updated to cover the new functions.
Download Version 20.5 from the top of this thread.

Fantastic! It now works 100% for me, as you'll see in my set-up thread.
I was getting the "Error: Variable used without being declared" message with the previous release, but not any more. Nice one.

I just opened the file (on campus) and noticed "box characters" towards the end/bottom of the file. Surprisingly, when I copied, and pasted them into this form, they pasted as normal...lol. So I don't know if it'll pose a problem or not when processing reports, for example:
Surprisingly, I've not found any of these lately, Beijing and XIN Net seem to be the heavy hitters lately.
