|

I'm new to Complainterator and dnsstuff, but it looks to me (from reading through their site and trying to use my program) that dnsstuff is no longer free to register, and will not work with Complainterator unless you pay dnsstuff. It's true that who.is pops up but then the whole process shuts down when it tries to go to dnsstuff, and this causes no reports to be auto generated. The auto written email complaint was the really cool function of the program and the reason it was created. If I'm wrong on any of the above somebody set me straight. Is there a way to set complainterator to not use dnsstuff at all? With this recent turn of events, is Complainterator planning on using a different service maybe with the next version?

Did you see the 20.2 release thread...? There were reports of "success" within that thread.
But I also read in one of the threads that there will be a new version released sometime soon that will be dnsstuff-independent.
On a side note, I generated and sent off reports for lamintour.com - with no problems, using 20.2 release, and free dnsstuff account.

Thanks for the tip ahoier. I downloaded the new modified version 20.2 and it works without any registration and totally free. I did read some reports of possible limited number of uses but we shall see. So far so good.

DNS Stuff is aware of the special needs of Complainterator, and have provided a means to allow its users to continue reporting illegal spam sites without having to pay a subscription fee.
DNS Stuff is, however, a powerful resource when researching information on web sites and domain names. If you find their services useful, please consider joining up.

In the past, DNSstuff always limited the number of queries (I am a free registered user). But yesterday, with the latest version of Complainterator, I ran more than 50 queries without any sign of limitation.

Exactly one of the questions I asked in my set-up problem thread. Tembow's earlier answer sorts it out.
