hi,
trying different Wait time factor to tune what is best for me, I noted that the "Lost a Window" dialogbox, happen always waiting DNS traversal response.
Probably traversal require more time than the other simple whois query.
So traversal is the limiting factor of reducing Wait time factor from N to N-1 (now I keep it on 4)
Maybe usefull adding a constant time to the wait specifically for traversal.
Or best two different wait time.

Another thing to try, would be to hit the Pause key on your keyboard.

Funny thing is, I rarely used that key before Complainterator Wink

Kinda like Scroll Lock lol.

The Pause key on my keyboard is one engraved with the word "Pause" and below that the word "Break"

Timeouts on traversals should not occur on version 20.7 available from www.complainterator.com

hehe. yea, sometimes it's above Page Up/Page Down, Home/End, Insert/Delete key sets. That's where mine is at home Razz

This funky keyboard on campus, that key is above the Num Pad, to include Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and Pause Break.

Now that you mention "Break" it triggers some memory about a "Break" button. Located it, and it has the word "Pause" printed on top!

In all those years I have never noticed that key, nor - of course - used it!

All this talk of use-less keyboard keys....

What purpose does the "Windows Key" serve in a *NIX environment? lol.

I think every keyboard I've owned thus far, has had a "Windows Key" (between CTRL and ALT on most keyboards).

Does this key function under a *NIX environment...? Razz

In KDE on a Debian machine, I can map the combination of windows+some other key for useful things. For example

I mapped <win>+<tab> to 'show all windows on a desktop" function of komposer. Very handy.

I can try Complaterator20.7 only in some sand box WinXP (VmWare server) as I just swiched completely to Linux.
At the fist test the timeout seems do not happen anymore.
