I have a Dell Inspiron 6000. It has a 60 gig hard drive and I want to replace it with a 120 gig drive. I ask Dell to send me a backup disk for drivers & such. My question is this. Will I have my Win Xp disk included with that back up and how do I go about doing all this? Never had a laptop before. Thanks!

I expect that only drivers will be included. Your current Win XP disk will be fine for use on the larger drive.

My laptop was a prize that my husband won in a contest and I didn't get ang Win XP disk w/it. The only disk I got was Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003.

That means then that they probably have some sort of recovery partition on the original HD that includes the necessary re-installation software, OS< drivers, etc....
I'd contact Dell again and tell them *exactly* what you are doing and get their advice on how you can do that without having to spend more money on things like an external HD caddy and imaging software - although that might, in the end, be your only option. _________________ <img src="http://www.castlecops.com/zx/johnlgalt/johnlgalt%20sig.png">
