Hello,

I'm a beginner in security (but learn fast) confronted with what looks like infected Ad-Aware files.
(till tuesday it was very discreet, yesterday when I started investigating the Ad-Aware files it blocked my acces to security sites, launched an unasked "planified Ad-Aware scan", gave at least a dozen successive SpywareTerminator alerts trying to 'update' unknown 'Microsoft libraries')
I submitted them to VirusTotal without result and, as it seems an interresting case, wanted to send them to you (Unknowm Files Forum) before trying to eradicate them.

In order to follow your rules and be able to choose without mistake the right parameters to zip the concerned files, I downloaded the by you suggested 7-zip software wich has a french version (my language). In fact as I surf as 'guest' I recorded it, then swiched to an Administrator session to install it.

When I asked to open it the security window informed that the editor is unknown.... which seems a bit strange to me.
When I scanned it with Antivir: "Unknown engine error <13100>"

I'm twice reluctant because the 7-zip download was made via a "souceforge" site and my infection has once directed me today on an "http://souceforge.net/.... " site (sorry I didn't write the complete address down) which strongly recommanded downloading a "XAware 5.0" antispyware!

Can I realy open and install this 7-zip file in total security??
The filename is 7z457, the icon round and green.

Thanks a lot for your acvice!
