|
|
The FREE AVG perform a daily scan on my PC. Seems that I can only cancel the daily scan but I can not ask for (just an example) twice a week scan.
Is It true ???
I think there is an option to run the AVG from the scheduled tasks windows tool (AVGSCAN.exe command ) .... ? !!? Please provide me any relevant details (parameters needed ...).
Thanks
My Version is AVG FREE 7.5.519

Running avgscan /? gives you a complete list of all parameters:
/SCAN Scan test /path,path/
/HEUR Heuristic Analysis /path,path/
/EXCLUDE Exclude path or files from scan
/@ Command file /file name/
/EXT test these extensions /for example EXT=*/
/NOEXT do not test these extensions /for example NOEXT=JPG/
/SMART Smart scan
/ARC test archives
/RT test run-time compressions
/CLEAN clean automatically
/TRASH Move infected files to the Virus vault
/QT Quick Test
/LOG Generate a test result file
/MACROW report macros
/PWDW Report password-protected files
/IGNLOCKED Ignore locked files
/REPORT Report to file /file name/
/REPAPPEND Append to the report file
/REPOK report uninfected files as OK
/STOPLEVEL Pause on detection /1-n/
/NOBREAK Do not allow CTRL-BREAK to abort
/NOBOOT Skip MBR/BOOT check
/NOMEM Do not test memory
/MEM Scan active processes
/NOHIMEM Do not test upper memory
/NOSELF Do not self-check AVG
/SKIPRP Skip reparse points (NTFS only)
/SPY Use Anti-Spyware Scanner
/SMS Generate report in Management Information File (MIF) format
/? Display help on this topic
/HELP Display help on this topic
/DELAY Cooperative mode (sleep during scanning)
In the simplist form:
avgscan /scan c:\ will scan your C drive
Just add the parameters you want i.e.:
avgscan /scan c:\ /ARC will scan C and also scan your archives (zip, etc) _________________ Microsoft MVP Consumer Security, 2004-2008

I'm aware the 32 command given parameters !!! I do not understand lots of them !!!
To be specific: what parameter list will test my PC from the "Scheduled Task" tool exactly the same way the as AVG runs the test from within the AVG tool ??

Perhaps a better option than using the command line scanner.
Take a look at http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/read.php?8,48496,48496#msg-48496 for scheduling scans via Control Panel Scheduled tasks. (See post made by ErnieZ)
Just specify the command to run as:
"C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free\avgw.exe" /test="Complete Test" _________________ Microsoft MVP Consumer Security, 2004-2008
