Running free version of SH V2.0 on XP Pro. Can do manual updates under Firefox with no problem. Can't do them under IE7. I get popup window stating "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" with reference to C:\ProgramFiles\FireTrust\SiteHound\SiteHound_Update.exe.
If I disable my ZoneAlarm Security Suite V7.0, however, I can run the updates under IE7.
I reinstalled SH with ZA inactive, and have done and verified everything in the "Update failed, what can I do?" FAQ (except for using the repair option, since Repair_SiteHound.exe doesn't seem to exist). Have also put every SH authorization I can think of into ZA.
I really prefer to run my updates under IE, but don't like having to disable all security in order to do it. Any ideas?

You could try adding sitehound.dll to the authorisation list.
The file is obviously there, for the FF version to be working, and as you say if ZA is disabled it works.
The other alternative (though hardly ideal) is to just rely on the Firefox version. When the Firefox version updates, it is also updating the files used by the IE version so there is no need for this to be updated if the FF version has already done so. _________________ I wish my lawn was emo, then it would cut itself
