I am going to replace/upgrade my current DVD-RW and would like to know what brand is best to go with. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Recently I have been having excellent results with Samsung drives, both optical and hard. Here's two identical drives except one is IDE and the other is SATA:

I've also had good results with LiteOn.

They are very inexpensive these days, ~$30 is what you will pay for a good one.
