|
|
I want to do a factory restore on my alt computer. Im letting my roommate use it to play videogames and well... its slow... its not running programs normally. and it doesnt want to install any new window updates. So, after 3 years of crap with it, I am ready to do a factory restore. I have one question though... When I baught the computer it came with a videocard in it. I baught a Nvidia 5700 FX a couple years ago to replace the other junky card that was in it. Well, when I do a factory restore will everything work fine even with a different videocard inside??

You will most likely have to reinstall the drivers for your new video-card for the computerit to work properly.

I would expect that this should be very much like what you experienced when you first installed the new video card. Windows has a default set of drivers that allow limited functionality of whatever video card you have installed until you can install the specific drivers. You should be prompted to install the new drivers for the new video card when you first start the factory restored computer. Is this not what you experienced when you first installed the new video card?

It might be... I dont remember.. lol
I know that when I just built my new computer that when I put the video card in that it worked before I put in the driver... sooo i guess that would work the same way. Appriciate it.
