Hi,
I have a high speed Internet cable connection which has gradually degraded over the last year or so, to the point where it was intermittent for hours at a time. In the last few days I lost 100% connection to the high speed Internet.
My Internet provider sent a technician who determined that the signal is excellent, he even changed the modem, and he claimed that the problem is with my PC. I borrowed a laptop from a friend and the internet works perfectly. There is definitely something wrong with my PC.
Whether I connect through the Ethernet card or through the USB port, the result is negative (no connection). I changed both wires without success. I also tried replacing the hard drive with another hard drive containing Windows XP Pro Serv. Pack 2, again no connection.
It seems that I can send out emails, but I can't receive any.
The dial up connection on my PC works, I am using this now.
It was suggested to me that it could be a mother board problem.
Could anyone please help me with this problem.
Thanks.
