Wow... This is an obnoxious little bugger!

I thought I had it in the box. But so far, no luck. Seems to be quite rampant on the MSN chains. Especially the ones with contacts in Europe and such. After spending 2 or 3 hours trying to make sure it didnt exist anymore, I saw that it had sent again to someone. Its interesting how it does only people on MSN that are online and then hides the chat window that was sent. I can only imagine what would happen if you had 30 or 40 people on line and it trigger. I also cannot seem to figure out the trigger.

I wonder why Symantec Corporate 10 (or other NAV signiture files) doesnt have ANY knowledge of it?

I have followed the instructions (actually finishing the AdAware 2008 right now) and would love any insight on what I am missing. I am very interested in your site and love the detailed posts.

I have also attached the file that seems to have caused the problem (Picture.Zip). I never opened the file within the zip, however, I did own the Zip to see the file. That seemed very strange to me.

Well,

I got rid of -

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\Userinit.exe,C:\Documents and Settings\hwadmin\gnnae.exe \o

And all other 5 character random files in my D&S folder for my account.

I also deleted a file called %1 that was running and showed under Securty Task Manager v1F.

I also deleted all instances of Picture.Zip (found it in my Temp folders)

I will let you know if it continues or anything new shows up.

Please see this post... I have this new issue...

Really curious how a computer can make a connection out with out it showing up in NETSTAT.

Also...

I was gone for two weeks, and when I got home, my laptop could not use WPA2 TKIP AES anylonger...

THe only way I can use wireless is to go plain text...

I am most likely going to wax this puppy, but would like to use it as a learnign process on how to fix. If anyone has the time, I would appreciate the schooling!
