I am new. If I didn't follow protocol, please let me know.

Question: I keep finding my name on info sites. Evil or Very Mad
I think I am now on 800+ info sites. How do I get it to stop. I have myself on search engine alert to see when new ones pop up. It seems each time I go online, shortly thereafter, a new notice is sent to me. Microsoft Live Onecare does not find a virus. My kids were searching my name recently and they found a link to several pornography sites Shocked with my name Embarassed (and no, they didn't find me on the site--lol--just my name that linked them to it). Evil or Very Mad

Thanks! Smile

Moved to the Privacy forum, a better spot for this question.

Moved to General Computer Problems.

I don't see a problem. Plugging anybody's name into Google will return anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand results. More common names can produce millions. E.g., "Robert Smith" gives over 3,000,000.

PCB: We crossed trails there. Smile Privacy is probably a better place for this thread than General Computing.

No problem. If I plug my real name into Google without my middle initial, I get 1,180,000 references, and with my middle initial, 3,430,000 references due to the way Google handles partial matches in searches.

The strange thing is that what appears on the sites with my name, is the exact string-word for word-that I had recently searched.

Does this change things?
