I know this is a little off-topic for these forums, but I'm having a networking dilemma.

I'm spending a month in a dorm room on campus, and the method of internet access is wi-fi. Unfortunately, my Xbox 360 doesn't have the wireless adapter, and I don't feel like shelling out huge $$ for it. With that in mind, is there a way I could set up my spare laptop to feed internet through to it? Either that, or use the spare laptop to feed internet to a router, and then plug the xbox 360 into a router?

Which of these, if either, would work. If both, which one is better. And how do I go about doing this? Much thanks!!!

If the laptop has *both* a wireless card and an Ethernet NIC, sure- just enable Internet connection sharing, let the laptop connect to the Internet via the wireless, and let the XBox connect to the Internet via the laptop using the ICS.

See http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/connectionmethods/windowsics.htm for full details.

Does an Ethernet NIC mean an ethernet port for networking? If so, then I have one of those...
