I have 6 different svchost.exe showing in mt task manager.
3 are shown as being used by SYSTEM.2 by NETWORK SERVICE, and 1 by LOCAL SERVICE. are these all necessary? I have read where spyware/malware can be disguised as svchost.exe.

can anyone advise me?

Those are normal. Malware can be disguised as anything, but in the absence of other symptoms I would say those are all real.

If you've a clean system, Process Explorer can help you determine why those svchost.exe are running.
