ICANN notified BILT and Joker on September 30th that they are in breach of their obligation under §3.7.8 of the Registrar Accreditation Agreement to "take reasonable steps" to investigate and correct whois data inaccuracies.

Under the terms of §5.3.4 of the RAA, a registrar has fifteen days from the date of notification to cure the breach or ICANN may terminate their contract with the registrar.

Wow, this is significant.

Even though Joker has dropped significantly in terms of spam-related domain registrations (and they're approx. 2 years late in sending this notice to Joker) it's still good to see.

BILT: also about time.

Why isn't Hichina on that list? Or XIN NET?

Ironically, although the notice regards failing to deal with problems in a timely manner, it took 11 months to do this after they sent a request for information to the registrars.

And as little regard as I had for Joker when they were Megadik Central, they really have changed their policies, so if anything it may be counterproductive to come down on them now, especially when so many other registrars are now doing much worse.

That was my "wow" too...lol....kinda "late" :) Perhaps they are finally catching up on their WDPRS reports? :) Who knows? lol.

I guess we'll have to wait 2 more years for those three to be notified :)

Why is it that we're still seeing Moniker within the top five after at least two years of steadfast reporting?

Monte Cahn: for shame!

That company is dirty, and even worse: they're renowned for being dirty. (Do a google on Moniker and Spam and see how many posts come up regarding a total lack of action on behalf of this US-based registrar regarding domains involved in cybercrime, forum and blog spamming, and hosting of illegal pharmacy or other sites.

Ridiculous!

My spam has decreased from 60-80 a day to now 5-15 a day. It started oct.23.
Now I get some new ones that I have never seen before. I think it is stock-spam. Am I right?

I'd start with enforcement@sec.gov
Just make sure to include the headers, body, and attachments (usually pdfs, gifs or jpgs)

If it really is only traded on European exchanges, I'm not sure, but maybe info@deutsche-boerse.com

Never mind what I said. I inquired and got this reply:

Quote:
If someone recieves spam for a stock traded on the Frankfurt exchange,
Deutsche Börse AG (info@deutsche-boerse.de) is NOT the right recepient.
If you want to report this, please report it to the Federal Authority for
the Supervison of financial service providers, banks, insurance
undertakings and securities trading (www.bafin.de)

interesting find AC.

http://spamlinks.net/track-report-addresses.htm#fraud-stocks
lists the following address for reporting @bafin.de: poststelle

another @deutsche-boerse.com address I came across in the past was smart-trading, but now I am not entirely sure that is useful.

AC, I got the exact same answer as you did. Now I have a lot of reading to do. I am a slow reader when it comes to foreign languages. Sad And that is both english and german.
But as you have done it for me, I will try brewt's suggestion
