Spybot turned up 15 entries for this item which is sroed in 3 locations in XP Home;Desktop, Autostart, andand Program Entry files. Bot promised to delete them on restart since they were in use. It didn't do so. Then installed Adaware, and it came up with several Wild Tangent & associated cookies which I deleted. Latter did not pick up Crush.
Printed Crush log, and went to location to try manual delete but no \\start.exe was there.
Bot has Crush listed but no fix. Symantic has no record. Have been working on this for 3 days. Fell that because it is in startup it can't be deleted.

Have been in Registry but Crus was not listed. Only "default" was listed in HKEY location.

Really need and appreciate any help in removing this spyware-Adware. Thanks Jack

Create and Unzip to a folder not your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan".
Unzip the download (using a piece of software like: Winzip)


When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log in a text file, and post it in the CCSP "Spyware - Hijack Related" forum:

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
