I would like to see MailWasher handle the lists more efficiently. If the Blacklist is over 32000 lines then MW simply dies when adding or subtracting from the lists. This has been a bug since V 1.0.Eachtime you add or subtract an address then the whole list is completely rewritten and you're locked out of MW til the process is over and you can add the next address. It could take 30 minutes to add 30 addresses at that rate.Couldn't you just load the list into memory and append to the list then rewrite at shutdown during idle time?
This is one problem I know you are aware of and really needs to be worked on.
MW is an excellent program in most respects, but does need better Option controls such as to mark for "Bouncing"or"Delete" only as opposed to the hard coded "Mark for Delete and Bounce"with no choices.I personally don't delete any mail and send it to SpamRecycle ,The SpamArchive,uce@ftc.gov, and to SpamCop for processing so I have to go down the lines of about 100+ spam mails and "Uncheck" all the delete boxes.
Anyway,keep up the good work.

Yikes! You should make the key more redily available for your paying customers. I've been waiting two days just to reinstall Mailwasher. You've really left me high and dry, Nick!

Graphs would be nice

I would like another column added that would sort the email received by the domain it came from…not just the account but just by domain, example: sort by aol.com, msn.com, yahoo.com and so on.

I would like to see in the blacklist at least two additional columns for the statistics of:
1. date this email address was last matched
2. total number of times email address has been matched

Using this information I can, hopefully, reduce the size of my blacklist by looking at which addresses have not recently been matched. Manual deletion would be easier if I could sort by blacklisted email address age?

Also, perhaps filtering can be applied based on a combination of number of hits and date of most recent hit. May be this could speed up the filtering process?

I assumed that the second column in the blacklist is the date of the first match. Am I right?

I would guess not. It's probably the date of the most recent match. My reasoning is that MWP can be set to delete entries that haven't been matched in X days.

I would like to have a scroll bar added at bottom of the message table so I can check all the columns I've selected to be displayed and not have to fiddle around with resizing them to make them fit.
Resizing them only if you have mail in them is great but why not when there is no mail in the message table? (for when you are offline and trying to get the sizing right)
Only a suggestion ...

...why I would want to automatically Blacklist something that is either known Spam or is flagged by one of the blacklisting services. It seems to me this just bulks up the Blacklist without adding any more accuracy. I'd prefer to have Blacklist be a manual action that I take when I have a reason to do so.

...why Bounce has to be automatically selected for these same Known Spam or blacklist service flagged messages. Bounce mostly doesn't work and just results in non-deliveries or error messages. I don't want to have to disable Bounce altogether just to get it not to be automatically selected - that prevents me from using it at all, and there are some (rare) times when I want to use it.

More convinced as time goes by that you should have an option for a
popup box upon arrival of mail - with further option to be alerted for
any mail and/or just mail from friends list. - and the popup box would
have option to set viewing time of popup notice set in "x no. of
seconds" as chosen by the user. To min. the browser, just to check
for little Lawrence Welk bubbles on MW Pro icon in the SysTray is annoying, imo.
And while this may exist in MW Pro now, and maybe I haven't used
it or even misunderstood it, I think that as blacklist grows there
should be choice to, in the future, just have an auto delete occur
of any mail from a party or domain IF they are in my blacklist. No seeing
it, no further screwing w/it; no intervention on my part of any
kind. Again, I may have not used that or set it up correctly, if now
in MW Pro ver. I have.

But, overall, am a happy camper w/MW Pro. Regards,

About the datestamp in the blacklist file and a value of zero.

If it the datestamp has a value of zero, how does MWP know when to delete it? If zero means never matched, then it should be removed from the blacklist.

This a problem with importing blacklists, generic published blacklists are likely to have a datestamp value of zero (true?). From what I understand, if never matched the blacklist entry will never be deleted but will continue to consume CPU everytime MWP tries to match against it.

Perhaps on startup, MWP should set all datestamp values of zero to 'today' so eventually, if never used, they will be removed once they expire.

A value of zero, or negative, could be used to mean never remove (probably not useful).

Nick once told me when I asked about the appended numbers in the blacklist that it was a sharing number.I think it was back about v1.1 when I asked this. What ever this means. All manually added entries to the blacklist do have an appended 0 and once used it changes to a 5 digit number.Could possibly mean that the 0 value entries never get removed.

In the checkmail button, there is a dropdown list that allows you to only check specific accounts.
It would be nice if the "process" button had the same option.
Between my wife and I, we receive a ton of spam and as a result (out of curiosity) I log the numbers. It would be nice if I could just delete the stuff from accounts that had reached a point of "maximum" (beit five, ten or twenty - it's just easier to keep the files in order).
As the check already has that function, it seems it shouldn't be too hard to add that to the process button.
Of course I could be wrong......
This is for a multiple account situation of course (just thought of that -sorry)
