I've been building this list for awhile and it contains well over 1000 listings.

I will add that I use "extreme" methods. IE I utilize the wildcard ability to block anything from a "spamming" ISP.

It's my belief that if an ISP truly wished to halt the spam epidemic they would stop users that spam from their servers. Simple. They know that users send out thousands of emails, so should take steps to stop it.

So I block the entire domain. Not to mention that its extremely unlikely that anybody I know would use these domains in the first place Razz

If you'd like to download it feel free http://www.macabre.cnchost.com/list.zip its a zip file and is 117KB.

I will add that if you have friends that use hotmail, yahoo, etc style email addresses and you do not have them on your friendlist that you may wish to remove the entries for these sites. Or simply add your friends to your trusted list.

I gave up on Blacklisting, it was bigger than Ben Hur and growing.

Every morning I would receive up to 40 SPAM emails, with about 1 or 2 of them being identified as being on my Blacklist.

I modified all of my filters to [Blacklist] and assiduously trimmed my Blacklist for "domain variations".

End result, just as much SPAM and a Blacklist that was starting to affect performance.

Only an "amateur" SPAMMER is going to use the same name and domain on every post.

So I changed all my filters back to [Delete], cleared my Blacklist, turned off the Blacklist DNS checking (SPAMCOP, et al).

Not getting any more SPAM, but MWP at least executes quickly and I simply [Process Mail] to [Delete] the lot.

Just my 2¢ worth on the subject.

Hey Al, point noted. But to be perfectly honest I'll use todays email run.

I had 174 emails in three accounts. 104 of them were caught by the blacklist, 34 were new (and added to list, updated statically on my server) with the remaining 36 being from friends and associates.

To me that is well worth the effort to blacklist. And that is a small number of emails that I get throughout the day!
