Hello,

I just reformatted two of my personal computers, because they were possibly full of malice.

I am a heavy internet user, and would like to protect my computer to the best extent possible.

I am running Windows XP Pro and Office 2003

I currently have done the following:

-Installed Zone Alarm Pro 4.5

-Installed all current windows updates

-In the process of installing Office 2003 updates

-I have Ad-aware6 trial version. Does the run in the background or do I basically need to do a scan whenever I feel the need to?

-I have Norton Antivirus 2004 with all current updates

I would like to secure my computer to the best that I can.

-What other software do I need?...I often read about Spybot Search and Destroy, HijackThis

-What is a good program to protect Instant Messaging, e.g. MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger

-What is a good program to block out Spam in email?...I have access to Norton AntiSpam 2004, Norton Internet Security, but have not installed them as yet. Furthermore, I saw an ad on zonelabs for Spamex? i think thats the name

-What is a good program to protect passwords, credit card numbers etc. I have access to Norton Password 2004 if you suggest that is the best to fulfill this need

Thanks
RJ
