Ok i play this game called runescape some of you might've heard of this online rpg. But, back to the issue, ok ive never had problems with playing this game always going on then getting off when im done playing. But, today I was about to play it when this popped up, a little message that said "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly". And after I clicked on OK guess wut happened the page showed up but it didn't show up "correctly". So now ive been trying to do the same thing over and over and the message keeps popping up. It's been 8 hours so I guess this isn't the typical problem that goes away after a period of time. So please help me I do not know alot about computers but do know some things and this is something I do not know how to change.

Hello r3ach4daskyh0nky,

One of your programs is probably configured to block ActiveX controls. This could be your browser or one or more of your web filtering/privacy/ad-blocking programs. You will have to find that program and adjust the ActiveX control settings. Try checking any programs that you may have installed since your last successful visit to the game site. Smile

Can you tell me the fastest way to see which programs are configured to block ActiveX controls.
If I have to go on Add/Remove programs to do so well I can't because whenever I click on it the window pops up then dissappears and always does that so I can't go on that and it's also the same with the other things on control panel. But that is not the problem for me now I still need help on getting ActiveX to let me play my game.

If you don't mind me asking, who has Admin rights on your PC, you or, maybe someone else? If it's someone else, then perhaps they've set or reset access, depending on OS and what other security programs are installed.

OK I found out what the problem was I just had to go to security settings but these settings stay on when I change them and aren't saved so I always have to go on to change them before I play my game but the bigger problem is that the game is running way slower than it was before so I need to know why can someone explain to me why it is so slow now then before the activex problem?

OK, lets take a closer look. Please follow these instructions very carefully:

Virus=Read This: CastleCops Link/postt8864.html
HiJack= Read This: CastleCops Link/t911-Before_You_Post_Read_Follow_These_Rules_and_Guidelines.html

Download: HiJack This!

Create and Unzip to a folder not your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan".
Unzip the download (using a piece of software like: Winzip)

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log in a text file, and post it in the CCSP "Spyware - Hijack Related" forum:

CastleCops Link/f67-Trend_Micro_HijackThis_Logs.html

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

*Please, be patient. An expert will examine your log and this does take time. Thank you.*
