I've been testing MW for some time now and I'm 80% happy with it.
15 Of the remaining % could be retrieved if MW would recognise the e-mail address a spammer used to reach me and use this address as the "sender" address for the bouncing message. I am responsible for about 12 e-mail addresses and when I want to bounce effectively, I have to change the "sender" e-mail address in the profile for every group of "abused" e-mail addresses. I think this could be done easily (programatically), together with a "no bounce" filter if the "to" field conteigns an address that's not in the "used e-mail addresses" list (in the future to be entered in the options or accounts section).
The last 5% would be won if MW stopped to occasionally freeze my internetconnection. Probably it's a firewall issue, but 1 out of 5 times I have to shut doen my internetconnection after MW processed my mail, before I can receive the mail that's been left on the server (I can't use the internetconnection for surfing too...). Any suggestions?
Happy surfing,

I too am very happy with MW. I think the approach marries the best of both worlds - no chance of missing stuff, with the most effective spam resistance.
I Agree with this suggestion. I have mail hosted using the old style mail server where I recieve email for all of the domains that host mail on that server. Most of my spam isn't even directed at me!
I would like MW to trap the address it is sent to. I know that sometimes that is not possible. In those cases I think it would be ideal to have a drop-down with email addresses that one commonly bounces and a text field for those cases when the email address is not in the drop-down list.
This could be done via pop-up or another column in the diplay, but it needs to be on a per message basis. This way one could easily populate the addresses to bounce.

I believe what you're talking about is one of the features that MW is planning on adding soon. It should look at the address in the To field for mailboxes that have multiple aliases, and address the bounce appropriately. Maybe rusticdog can verify? _________________ Gary

I've heard that there are software firewalls that will actually close the connection for about 30 minutes if it "senses" a virus or something it thinks is an intrusion. If yours is that way, can you shut that feature off?
Good luck.

Good ole Norton Internet Security will block access to your mail servr for 30 minutes if it detects some virus activity... but not all virus activity. How wonderful... _________________ Questions? Try the wiki
