26 GB of data is a lot unless this person was working for Disney Animations. This data should have had a backup and it should have been placed in a secure, fire-proof, and possibly off-site vault just in case this sort of thing happened(the unexpected). I mean 26GB of confidential stuff? For text based games and user profiles, emails, and credit card/purchase information? I don't believe a good backup procedure was being implemented. I could be wrong.

| After reading Anonymous' comments to the origninal news article, I see that was the idea afterall. No data versus appropriated data.

"Is too much security ever enough?"
Sometimes it is just too much...and in that..focusing only on the attack and not the obvious...the weakness of the system you are trying to protect.

It's no wonder people get quite paranoid about security!
As more viruses/worms/trojans, etc. are let loose, security holes are being exposed, etc.
We have people who will open any attachment in their e mail triggering a malicious virus or worm.
Just look at tech sites like ZDnet & Cnet who have news articles regarding the latest virus/worm threats, holes/exploits found in servers, browsers, etc, that can be exploited & then they go as far as to tell people how they were and can be exploited.
We have sites such as Sub7 & Back Orifice where anybody can DL virus worm authoring tools.
Antivirus companies make threats seem worst than they really are so people will purchase the latest & greatest software, granted I use Norton Antivirus 2002 & Zone Alarm Pro 3.0 and I'm just a home user, but I want & need to feel secure w/o getting overly paranoid.
Everyday we here on the tech news and regular news sites about new virus/worm threats, ddos attacks, spyware, web bugs, exploits in browsers, etc. you can even get a virus these days from visiting the "wrong" web site!
The US has new laws that they can monitor your PC w/o your knowledge. We have malicious hackers that have no regard whatsoever about yours or anyone elses PCs
It is no wonder people get highly paranoid about security.
I know I like to feel secure surfing the net & want to have the best security possible for my PC.
So how much security is enough?

What strikes me most in this story, that all the time he's padding himself on the back for having Fort Knox security, he has a Self-Destruct mechanism that could have very well just had been easily triggered by a baby (afterall, a random bash at a keyboard by an aggravated gamer constitutes as much deliberateness in which keys get hit as the enthousiastic pounding a toddler would do)
and to think it could be entered from any terminal! Sheesh, this is like playing russian roulette operated by a keyboard in the hall of Grand Central during rush hour!

And by government you of course refer to Liberal Lunatics.
